AI Ready Teens
Spotting AI-Generated Media and Misinformation
Tuesday, November 10
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Can you spot AI-generated media? Practice identifying synthetic content and learn strategies for thinking critically about what you see online.
AI-generated images and other synthetic media can make it increasingly difficult to tell what is real online. Teens will practice identifying clues that may indicate content was created or manipulated by AI. The session emphasizes critical thinking, slowing down before sharing or believing information, and considering how manipulated media and misinformation can spread online.
What is the AI Ready Teens program series?
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the tools, platforms, and media teens encounter every day. This five-part series gives teens ages 12–18 practical AI literacy skills they can use in school, creative projects, online spaces, and everyday life. Participants will explore how AI works, learn how to get more useful results from AI tools, experiment with AI-assisted content creation, identify AI-generated media and misinformation, and explore AI for projects and entrepreneurship. Each session stands alone while building toward a broader understanding of responsible and effective AI use. There are also AI Ready program series for Kids & Families (6-11) and Adults.
Registration is required. Families registering multiple teens should register each participant separately.
