Fossils are Fun! with the Calvert Marine Museum
a CCPL Summer Learning Challenge Program!
Wednesday, July 08
10:00am - 11:00am
Come learn about the fossils we have right here in Southern Maryland!

Everyone loves dinosaurs, but few know we had our own pre-historic creatures right here in Southern Maryland! In this program, participants learn what fossils are, how they are made, and clues to the ancient past. This is done through story, graphic illustration, seeing and touching real fossils, and making a model imprint. Each participant will receive a fossil to keep.
About the Presenter: Nestled along the scenic Patuxent River in Solomons, Maryland, the Calvert Marine Museum tells the incredible stories of the Chesapeake Bay region — from prehistoric fossils and massive megalodon sharks, to the fascinating wildlife of the Bay, to the maritime heritage that has shaped Southern Maryland for generations.

Registration is required. Families registering multiple children should register each participant separately. This program is designed for children ages 6-11. Please contact laplataref@ccplonline.org or call us at 301-934-9001 with any questions!
