Celebrate Women's History Month by learning about Maria Sibylla Merian, a pioneer in illustrating butterfly life cycles. Explore her artwork, then create your own colorful butterflies.

Join us for a colorful, hands-on program inspired by Maria Sibylla Merian—the groundbreaking German naturalist and early entomologist who helped the world understand the life cycle of butterflies. Kids will discover Merian’s remarkable story and explore some of her beautifully detailed watercolor scientific illustrations. Then we'll bring the magic of metamorphosis to life by creating our own vibrant butterflies using bleeding-tissue paper transfers and crafting.
This engaging session blends art, science, and history, encouraging creativity while introducing young learners to an inspiring woman who changed how we see the natural world!
Registration is required. Recommended for ages 6-11.
