Come learn about African culture and folklore with author Ada Ari!

Have you ever wondered why spiders have such thin legs? Join us for an interactive story time with Author Ada Ari, author of The Spider's Thin Legs. In this session, we will learn about a time-honored folktale from Ghana. This story incorporates a counting exercise and includes a moral lesson about listening to parents and following instructions. Participants will also learn a famous Ghanaian dance move, learn fun cultural facts about the Ashanti kingdom of Ghana (birthplace of this story), and engage in coloring and trace-by-number activities.

Registration is required. If you have questions, please email westref@ccplonline.org or call 301-645-1395.

About the Presenter: Ada Ari is an educator, entrepreneur, presenter and an award-winning author on a mission to promote diversity and inclusion in children’s literature. She is dedicated to retelling some of the most loved African folktales in the form of beautifully-illustrated children’s picture books. You can find more about her on her website.
