Calling all artists! Join us for an afternoon of art history fun, learning all about different artists while learning new art skills and techniques!
We are now offering two sessions of Art Exploration on the second Wednesday and second Thursday of each month so that even more artists can join in the fun.
Many cultures explored the functionality and decorative use of working with metal, creating ornate metal plates, vases, and planets. The West African Kingdom of Benin, or modern-day Nigeria, worked with bronze, creating elaborately decorated cast plaques, animal and human figures, and intricate jewelry. Join us in learning about Benin Bronzes while making a metal etching you can frame.
Please register each child who will be attending separately and only register for one session each month, as both Wednesday and Thursday will be the same sessions. Please email Laura Johnson at ljohnson@ccplonline.org with any questions.
Charles County Public Library events are accessible for all. If you have an accessibility request, please contact programs@ccplonline.org three business days prior to the event.
