Dive into the fascinating world of non-fiction while focusing on the things that matter the most to you!

Join fellow teens for thoughtful discussions about compelling nonfiction books and the real stories behind them. This book club explores a wide range of topics, including memoirs, biographies, history, science, current events, social justice, and other thought-provoking subjects. Each month features a new theme that encourages participants to discover different perspectives, share ideas, and engage in meaningful conversation.

Rather than everyone reading the same title, participants are invited to choose a nonfiction book that fits the month's theme. This flexible format allows teens to explore topics that interest them while introducing the group to a variety of books and viewpoints.

Before each meeting, select and read a nonfiction book related to the month's theme, then come prepared to share what you learned, discuss your favorite moments, and hear recommendations from other readers. Together, we'll explore new ideas, build critical thinking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the world around us.

September's theme is Events that Shaped our World! Read a book of your choice, focusing on an event that you think has had the most impact on the world.

This program is intended for teens ages 12–18. Younger participants may find the discussions and concepts too advanced.

Registration is required.

If you have any questions or would like help selecting a book, please email Laura Johnson at ljohnson@ccplonline.org or call 301-375-7375.
