Discover the world of art through creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning!
Discover the world of art through hands-on creativity and fascinating stories about the artists and techniques that have shaped it. Each month, we'll take an in-depth look at a different artist, art movement, style, theme, or artistic technique, exploring what makes it unique and why it continues to inspire people today.
After learning about the month's topic, participants will create their own art project inspired by what they've discovered, experimenting with new materials, techniques, and creative ideas along the way.
In October, we will celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring Mexican Folk Art. Embossed hojalata, or Mexican tin art, evolved from 16th-century Spanish colonial art, drawing on Hispanic tools, symbols, and culture for inspiration.
Art Exploration meets on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, with the same program repeated on the second Thursday to provide additional opportunities for participation.
Registration is required. Families registering multiple children should register each participant separately.
