Ready to pick up a crochet hook for the first time? Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to the art of crochet and learn the basics you need to get started.

We'll explore a brief history of crochet and learn how to hold a crochet hook and yarn, create basic stitches, and turn yarn into fabric. You'll also be introduced to the symbols and terminology used when reading crochet patterns, so you can begin following instructions on your own.

By the end of the session, you'll have the materials, instructions, and confidence to create a small crochet square—and the skills to continue practicing and take on more projects in the future.

No previous crochet experience is necessary. All skill levels are welcome!

Registration is required. If you have questions, please contact the Potomac Branch at 301-375-7375 or email potomacref@ccplonline.org.
