What Is AI?
Monday, September 21
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Explore the basics of artificial intelligence through fun, family-friendly activities that build curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and safe technology habits.
What exactly is artificial intelligence? In this introductory session, children ages 6–11 and their caregivers will explore what AI is and how it works at a basic level. Through age-appropriate examples and interactive activities, participants will discover how AI can learn from patterns and examples and begin recognizing the technology around them. No previous knowledge of AI is needed—just curiosity!
What is the AI Ready Kids & Families program series?
This five-part series helps children ages 6–11 and their parents or caregivers explore AI in fun, approachable, and age-appropriate ways. Families will learn how AI works at a basic level, recognize where it appears in everyday life, practice using AI safely, identify AI-generated content, and develop responsible AI habits for home. Each session includes interactive activities and opportunities for family discussion. Sessions are designed to stand alone, so families can attend individual programs or participate in the full series. There are also AI Ready program series for Teens (12-18) and Adults.
Registration is required. Families registering multiple children should register each participant separately.
