Join us for an introduction to financial literacy for teens!
This engaging workshop introduces teens to essential financial literacy concepts, empowering them to make informed and confident financial decisions. Participants will explore budgeting, saving, credit management, and debt awareness—building a strong foundation for long-term financial success. Through interactive activities and real-life scenarios, teens will develop practical skills and the confidence needed to navigate the complexities of personal finance.

Dr. Troy Anthony Anderson serves as the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent for University of Maryland Extension in Calvert County and is a faculty member in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His work focuses on financial wellness, consumer behavior, and consumer education, with publications featured in the Journal of the National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences and by the University of Maryland Extension. In 2025, he received the Extension Housing Outreach Award as the 1st Place National Winner for his innovative work in housing reparation policies. Dr. Anderson is also an active leader in professional organizations, including NEAFCS, AAFCS, and IFHE, where he supports strategic planning and community-focused programs for families and youth.
