Are you struggling with debt and looking for answers? Want to learn more about bankruptcy?

Join us for a legal information session with Dave Gormley of Southern Maryland Law, where you’ll gain essential knowledge about bankruptcy law and how it may provide relief from overwhelming financial burdens.

Bankruptcy is a legal process that allows individuals, businesses, and other entities to seek relief from outstanding debts and make a fresh financial start. However, navigating the complexities of bankruptcy can be challenging without the right information. This program is designed to help participants better understand their options, rights, and the steps involved in the bankruptcy process.

Attorney Dave Gormley will break down the different types of bankruptcy, including Chapter 7 (liquidation) and Chapter 13 (reorganization), discuss the impact of filing for bankruptcy, and explain what to expect during the legal proceedings. Whether you're considering bankruptcy, currently in the process, or simply want to be informed about this important legal tool, this workshop will provide valuable insights in an easy-to-understand format.

Take control of your financial future—join us for this informative and empowering session!

This program is in partnership with the Charles County Bar Association.

About the Presenter:

Dave Gormley is a partner at Andrews, Bongar, Gormley & Clagett. He is the head of our bankruptcy department, and also for our real estate department. Dave has been handling bankruptcy cases since the 1990s – even before the bankruptcy laws changed so dramatically in 2005. He has extensive experience with over 30 years of navigating the complex federal legal system that is bankruptcy.

Dave was very active in stopping the wave of foreclosures in Maryland that occurred after 2008 when the financial crisis hit. He saved the homes of countless families in Waldorf, Lexington Park, and throughout Southern Maryland.

There isn’t much related to bankruptcy or foreclosure Dave has not already seen. He wrote our Free Legal Guide to Bankruptcy in Maryland, and our Free Legal Guide to stopping foreclosures.

Dave is admitted to practice in Maryland state courts, and all the Federal Courts, including the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Dave is a life long resident of Maryland. He came to our firm in 2002 after many years in another local law firm, handling thousands of bankruptcy, family law, and criminal cases. He is a familiar face in the Southern Maryland courts.
