Come learn about the exciting world of ham radio with Bob Curran! This presentation will include a display and demonstration of equipment.
About the presenter: Bob Curran has been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1980 and has held a commercial radiotelephone operators license since 2002. He spent most of his career as an electronics specialist for the Smithsonian Institution. He is a lifetime member of the American Radio Relay League, current president of the Charles County Amateur Radio Club, and a member of the Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers.
From the time he was a child Mr. Curran has been fascinated with shortwave radio and long-distance AM radio reception. His current amateur radio interests include public service communications, temporary outdoor radio operation, and experimenting with digital television.
