Join us and Marsha Searle for a look at dance around the world!
Embark on a captivating journey into the realms of rhythm, music, and percussive dance with the "World Dance" presentation by Marsha Searle and the Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble. This mesmerizing performance brings forth the rich tapestry of traditional dance and music from various corners of the globe, including Ireland, South Africa, China, Mexico, and the United States. Led by the virtuoso performers of Footworks, this interactive assembly invites students to join in, singing along, creating rhythms, and dancing to live music. It's a joyous celebration of diverse world cultures that promises to engage and inspire all in attendance.
About the Presenter:
Marsha Searle has been dancing for as long as she can remember. Her front lawn performances inspired her parents to enroll her in ballet, and she grew up studying ballet and Scottish Highland dancing. Shortly after moving to Maryland in 2004 she became a principal dancer with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble and has been dancing professionally with them ever since. Over the years she has been Footworks’ School Show Director, Rehearsal Captain, and Company Manager. Marsha Searle is currently the director of Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble where she feeds her love for world dance and diverse cultures and peoples. She shares this love through teaching and performance.
