Come learn about the birds who stick around during winter and make a feeder for them!

Join us for an exciting and educational event in partnership with the Charles County Humane Society, where we dive into the fascinating world of the wild birds that grace our backyards and natural spaces in Winter. This event aims to educate participants about local avian species, their behaviors, and the importance of bird conservation in our community.

Program Highlights:

  • Introduction to Local Avian Species: Discover the diverse bird species native to Charles County. Learn to identify common Winter backyard visitors and understand their unique characteristics and behaviors.
  • Bird Anatomy and Adaptations: Delve into the fascinating anatomy of birds and explore how their physical features aid in survival and adaptation to Winter weather.
  • Birdwatching Tips: Gain practical advice on how to observe and appreciate wild birds responsibly. Learn about the best times and locations for birdwatching in our area.
  • Conservation Efforts: Understand the challenges facing local bird populations and discover ways you can contribute to their preservation through community initiatives and habitat enhancement.

This program is family-friendly and suitable for ages 4 and up. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or new to the hobby, you'll find valuable insights and enjoyable activities to enhance your appreciation of our feathered friends.

Registration is required. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
