Do you ever find yourself swimming in a sea of unused yarn skeins and have no idea what to do with them? The solution is simple: come join us for an afternoon of knitting & crocheting with a cause and dig into that stash of yarn! The goal of this program is to begin compiling a donation collection of handmade materials from members of the Southern Maryland community to be distributed to individuals in need. Hats, gloves, scarves, shawls, cowls, socks, blankets--anything that you can knit or crochet that will help keep our community warm this coming winter is a welcome contribution. At this program you will connect with other fiber artists in the area and help us start something new and wonderful.
If you would like to contribute but don't know how to knit or crochet, we can teach you! You can check your local library for knitting & crochet technique books to help you get started as well, if you want to learn at home before the program to give yourself a head start. A selection of simple patterns will be provided to spark inspiration during the program.
This event is scheduled to take place every Third Monday of the month from 6-7:30 PM, excluding days the library will be closed due to holidays, inclement weather, or other circumstances.
