From the comfort of your home, you can become a grand adventurer and, with the flexibility of a homebrew campaign, the story we tell can be tailored specifically for you! We look forward to seeing you there!
Who can attend this program? Tweens, teens, & adults! If you're a seasoned D&D player or have never played before, this is a program for you!
How is a Homebrew D&D campaign different from standard D&D? A Homebrew D&D campaign is different from regular D&D because it is completely customizable, meaning that the story and characters encountered will not be following an official module made by Dungeons & Dragons creators or their affiliates. It can be an ever-changing scenario, depending on the actions the players take. It is also a way to give players something new to experience, as there will not already be a pre-made story for them to follow.
What to expect: For the first session they are joining, players will need to create a free account on Roll20. At the first program, we'll go over how the game/campaign works, and we'll be creating new characters or adjusting characters (if you already have one). If your character has a backstory element you want to share with the other players, this will be a great time to share that! If you don't want to share your character's backstory, you can share that information with mobilelibrary@ccplonline.org or during the program via Zoom chat. We'll take the character's backstory into account as the campaign progresses. We'll also spend some time discussing the world they are in. At the start of each session, players will be encouraged to take time to get to know each other and work on adjustments to their characters; this will be a good opportunity for them to ask any questions they may have as well. You can also email any questions you may have to mobilelibrary@ccplonline.org before the program. Please be aware that emails will not be checked outside of working hours for the staff, and should therefore not expect a response until Monday at the earliest, should a question arise during the weekend.
