Bat Expedition

Are you brave enough to undertake the bat expedition?

Meet us at Autumn Hills in the Community Park parking lot at the corner of Buckthorn Ln and Constitution Dr. 

In honor of Bat appreciation month, bats will be taking flight throughout the library. Your expedition if you undertake it requires you to: travel to each of the Charles County Public Library branches—La Plata, Waldorf West, P.D. Brown, Potomac, Nanjemoy Kiosk, and the Mobile Library—between October 1st and 31st. At each location, a bat is hidden, waiting to be discovered. Seek out the QR code next to each to learn the type of bat you are viewing. Snap a photo of each bat as evidence of your discovery.

Once you’ve uncovered them all, visit the Mobile Library at any of its public stops. Show us your photos, share what you’ve learned, and claim your well-earned bat expeditioner reward! While supplies last.
