Romeo & Juliet with the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company
a CCPL Summer Learning Challenge Program!
Tuesday, August 04
7:00pm - 9:00pm
Join us for a special 18th century American edition of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet! The Education Tent will start at 7PM with curtains for the show at 7:30PM. Outdoor event, bring a chair/blanket.
Set in the lead up to the Revolutionary War, this production of Romeo & Juliet celebrates America's 250th anniversary by calling to our higher principles of freedom, equality, democracy, generosity, and the pursuit of happiness. Watch as the greatest love story ever told transcends political differences and, from the ashes of a tragedy, the survivors rededicate themselves to peace and American values.
This show will take place outside on the lawn near the flag poles and music garden. Some seating will be provided, but it is highly recommended that attendees bring their own seating.
