Join us for a foraging walk as we learn about native plants in our area.
Join us for a guided foraging walk at Mallows Bay Park led by local herbalist Holly Dunbar of New Moon Bodywork and Botanicals. During this outdoor program, participants will explore the park’s natural landscape while learning how to identify common edible plants found in our region. Holly will share tips on responsible and sustainable foraging, how to safely harvest wild plants, and simple ways these plants can be used for food and teas.
This relaxed, educational walk is a great opportunity to deepen your connection with the natural world and gain practical knowledge about the plants growing all around us. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage with the environment as we move along the trail.
Please dress for walking on wooded trails and uneven terrain, and be prepared for the weather. Comfortable shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle are recommended.
Mallows Bay Park is located at 1440 Wilson Landing Rd, Nanjemoy, MD 20662.
Registration is required. Recommended for ages 18+. If you have questions, please contact the Mobile Library at 301-456-4333 or email mobilelibrary@ccplonline.org.
