Celebrate National Comic Book Day with an epic library adventure! Library supervillain Dr. Overdue has unleashed chaos in the stacks, and only YOU can help the Library League superheroes save the day.

Step into the story between September 1 and 25 to track Dr. Overdue’s mischief through a series of clues hidden around Waldorf West. Each clue will bring you closer to cracking the case, discovering the secret password, and stopping Dr. Overdue before he escapes to spread havoc in other libraries.

Once you’ve solved the mystery, report your findings to the librarian at the desk in the Children’s Area to enter a drawing for a chance to win a gift card to Third Eye Comics!

Do you have what it takes to be a Library League hero? Grab your cape, sharpen your wits, and join the hunt!

Rules:

  • All clues will be located inside the library.
  • Some clues work best with a smartphone, but don’t worry if you don’t have one, you can use one of our library computers.
  • Once you have solved the mystery, tell the librarian at the Children’s Area the final password to be entered into the prize drawing.
  • Multiple people can work together and may each have their names entered, but only one winner will be selected.
  • This crime must be solved no later than September 25, 2025 otherwise Dr. Overdue will get away!
  • All ages are welcome to participate, but those under the age of 10 may need adult assistance. 
  • No hints from staff! It’s up to YOU to stop Dr. Overdue before it’s too late.
