Join us for Morning Story Time and share the fun of reading with your children! This is a Spark! Places of Innovation Program.
Children and their grownups will explore stories and activities to encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning. These 30-to-40-minute programs are developmentally appropriate for children 2-5 years old and are designed to promote language and listening skills, expand children’s imaginations, and arouse their curiosity about the world around them. Children and their grownups are encouraged to actively engage and participate with the stories and activities during the program.
All Are Welcome!
Our story times are crafted with all children in mind! Children with varying learning styles and abilities will learn together in a safe and supportive environment, where respect and appreciation for differences is encouraged and celebrated.
CCPL plays a crucial role in supporting and enriching our diverse community through library services and programming and aspires to reflect the traditions and values of Charles County through our relationship with our community. Spark! Places of Innovation, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program, dives into innovation and invention happening in rural America. In small towns across America, people are creating new products, taking risks, meeting challenges together, and seizing upon exciting opportunities that change local life and sometimes reach far beyond.
Spark! features stories from over 30 rural communities across the nation that reveal the dynamic relationship between place and creativity. Technical, social, cultural, artistic, or a combination of all of these—every innovation is as unique as each community.
Spark! Places of Innovation is part of MoMS, a unique collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, state humanities councils across the nation, and local host organizations. To learn more, visit www.museumonmainstreet.org.
