Take your art knowledge to the next level!
Join us for an afternoon of art history and learning advanced techniques. We are now offering two sessions of Art Exploration Teen Edition on the fourth Wednesday and fourth Thursday of each month so that even more artists can join in the fun.
Embroidery is the art of decorating fabrics and other materials using a needle and thread. While embroidery originated in China, India perfected the art of the thread. In April, we will learn about the many different and lavish types of embroidery that have their roots in India, from beads made of gold and silver to bright-colored threads woven together to create patterns such as flowers and animals for special ceremonies and everyday fabrics.
PLEASE NOTE: This program is designed for ages 9 to 18. Younger participants may have difficulty with the projects and/or concepts.
Please register each child who will be attending separately and only register for one session each month, as both Wednesday and Thursday will be the same sessions. Please email Laura Johnson at ljohnson@ccplonline.org with any questions.
Charles County Public Library events are accessible for all. If you have an accessibility request, please contact programs@ccplonline.org three business days prior to the event.
