Have you ever wondered about the Pakistani food and recipes from its different regions?  Do you enjoy Chicken Tikka or perhaps Rose Ice-Cream? Join us as we embark on this cooking series. We started this journey in June, we will explore a different recipe and learn about its background each month. We will also dig into topics such as different kitchen utensils, ingredients/spices, and method used in the recipes.

Please find the recipe of the month for the following dates:

December 2nd- Falooda (Layered dessert)

You can also cook along with me!

For November 4th recipe we will be making Channa Chaat.

This dish is perfect for any type of day. It works as a great appetizer or even a snack.

Back home, in Pakistan, dishes like Channa Chaat; samosa, pakoras, etc are served when guests come over with a cup of Chai. It is not heavy but will do the job of feeling full for a bit.

This recipe serves 2.

Ingredients:

1- 16 oz. Chickpea Can
1 Small red onion
1 Jalapeno
1- Medium Tomato
1- Medium Boiled Potato
Seasoning:
                          Salt

                          Crushed red pepper (Opt.)

                          Chaat Masala (Opt.)

Garnishing (Opt.)
                          *Fresh Cilantro

*Papri – I make my own Papri at home but this shortcut trick. Use frozen/thawed Piecrust, add cumin seeds, and flattened it out

using a roller onto counter. Cut small triangular shapes and bake in oven until golden brown and crisp.

                          *Beaten plain yogurt

                          *Tamarind Chutney
