Unearthing Humanity's Story with Dr. Owen Lovejoy

Come get a chance to learn from and ask questions to a professional anthropologist who's a leader in the field of human origins and locomotion!
In this talk, Dr. Owen Lovejoy will discuss his fascinating career as a foremost anthropologist and expert of human origins and anatomy. Following his talk, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions.
About the Presenter: Dr. C. Owen Lovejoy is Distinguished Professor of Human Evolutionary Studies at Kent State University. He was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2007 and is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a member of the core team of scientists currently analyzing our two most important fossil ancestors: Australopithecus afarensis (“Lucy”) and Ardipithecus ramidus (“Ardi”). He has argued that human emergence has relied on and has been guided by a unique combination of upright walking, social monogamy, and enhanced child care.
This program will take place over Zoom. Registration is Required.
