Come learn about rainwater collection and composting with the Charles County Environmental Resources department!
According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, rain barrels can save a homeowner 1,300 gallons of water use during peak summer months. Rainwater is naturally soft, oxygenated, and devoid of chlorine, so it can help improve the health of your gardens, lawns and trees. Capturing some of that rain water not only plays an important role in protecting our freshwater resources but also saves business owners, schools, and homeowners money by reducing tap water use. This workshop demonstrates the practical uses for rain barrels and how they reduce the impact of runoff on our local waterways and Chesapeake Bay.
Charles County Public Library events are accessible for all. If you have an accessibility request, please contact programs@ccplonline.org three business days prior to the event.
